The team had a long but smooth journey with 18 hours in the air yesterday and today. We were graciously met by our first set of hosts, The Hands of Love International Staff and a few of their students. The Hands of Love students are particularly excited, as while there have been numerous groups of visitors to campus previously, we are the first team of high school students to ever work with them. After a two hour bus ride through Entebbe and Kampala, we checked into our Hotel in the northern part of the city. Some surprisingly nice showers, a bit of rest, a team meeting, and a great team dinner at the hotel were a great cap to the first day. Students shared about their first impressions and what they are thankful for in the first few days of the trip. It is a remarkably unified and thoughtful group of students and adults, and we can't wait to see what is in store in the coming days!
